SOMEBODY'S DARLING with GOODNIGHT NED
Friday, June 21, 2013 09:PM
"Jank City Shakedown" is the sophomore release of Dallas-based roots-rockers Somebody's Darling. After a successful Kickstarter campaign in Feb. 2012, the band went into the studio with Grammy award-winning engineer Stuart Sikes (White Stripes, Cat Power, Loretta Lynn, etc.) and recorded the entire album in 10 days. Over the three years of gigging, writing and demoing that led up to the recording of the album, the band started to think of themselves as residents of a 'Jank City'--sort of a broke down artist community that's colorful but stressful, rewarding yet maddening, and most of all hilarious. Whenever a tire pops on the way to a gig, or a rent checks bounces or something, it's just a Jank City Shakedown. It takes a lot of faith and commitment to keep a rock 'n roll band going for 5 years, and SD is proud to keep writing tunes and connecting with friends and fans across the country. Hope you dig it. http://www.reverbnation.com/somebodysdarling ****with special guests**** GOODNIGHT NED Goodnight Ned is psychedelic/folk/blues/roots/rock/country/americana group from Dallas, TX. JOHNNY COOPER

“Don’t you just love it when you have high expectations for someone and they actually meet them? With all the buzz I’d been hearing about artist Johnny Cooper, I thought for sure at least a little of it must have been the LA hype machine at work. Not so. This 21-year-old’s performance at the Key Club’s Plush Lounge proved why his unique blend of rock, soul, and funk is worth talking about.” – by Kristin Houser, LA Music Blog http://www.johnnycooper.com/?pg=home
